====== Tornado near-miss (for Fort Collins) ======

We just had to cluster to the middle of our building [[http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=3404+east+harmony+road+Fort+Collins,+CO+80528,+USA&sll=40.513016,-105.013847&sspn=0.166005,0.367699&ie=UTF8&ll=40.515104,-104.975052&spn=0.166,0.255089&z=12|near I-25 and Harmony Road]] here in Fort Collins. A large tornado touched down near [[http://maps.google.com/maps?ie=UTF8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&q=Gilcrest,+CO,+USA&ll=40.405654,-104.843903&spn=0.332541,0.735397&z=11|Gilcrest]] and seems to have run east of us towards [[http://maps.google.com/maps?ie=UTF8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&q=Wellington,+CO,+USA&ll=40.588407,-104.913254&spn=0.331636,0.510178&z=11|Wellington]]. It was an unusual storm because temperatures were cool all morning and then the storm ripped loose before noon. Typically we see hot temperatures to fuel the storms and then things get wild in the afternoon. Beyond that, we don't usually get tornado-generating storms this close to the mountains.
