Arches National Park

"Now everybody hold still..." Sorry Lawrence, there's one in every crowd and I (Mike) was the goofball that day. What do you expect when I have to wait a whole day to get on my bike after arriving in Moab?

Lawrence found this giant snake below the North Window. I think he said it's a Western Bull Snake, or...?

Landscape Arch, the world's longest arch. Unfortunately this is as close as we were able to get since the hiking trail under the arch was closed due to a recent rockfall. Wonder how much longer that thing's going to stay up there?
On our way back from Landscape Arch the gang decided that we needed to hold up this wall, or...well... Don't ask me, as you can tell I (Mike) have no idea what's going on!
We spent the first day hiking. Lawrence brought a couple friends from his hotel group--Desiree and Shawna--henceforth known as the Harsh Sisters, or Harsheen and Harshette, or Harsheen and Harshish, depending on who you talk to. We got a hiking permit at the Arches National Park visitor's center, and this is a picture from our (quick) hike in the Firey Furnace area. Take a look at those colors, you can tell it's fall in Moab.

Yow, Mike's mug!
Paul overlooking the slickrock near Delicate Arch. Nice evening light.
Just us and a few of our friends... Photographers await sunset at Delicate Arch.
