Lockhart Basin

The long, low mesa in the middle of this picture is the White Rim Trail. It is across the Colorado River from the Lockhart Basin. This picture is also representative of much of the road surface--pretty smooth and fast. You know you're getting some big views when the White Rim looks small.

BTW, the White Rim Trail is our next destination. We will be there at the end of March 2000 for a self-supported, four-day ride around the rim. The plan is to pull all our gear in trailers so stay tuned for more pictures sometime in April.
