Playing (?) Tourist, the Moab Information Center
I'd taken only one picture in Moab proper before this one--a group shot at the end of the Kokopelli Trail ride. Here I am holding Canyonlands Country (Geology of Canyonlands and Arches National Parks) and Edward Abbey's Desert Solitaire (highly recommended--I've read it since returning to Colorado).
After the epic Lockhart Basin ride we were all pretty wiped. Actually Steve woke up early and hiked (!) up the Moab Rim, but the rest of us were not conscious until later in the morning. So, Mike W. and Doug headed south to pick up the truck from the Lockhart Basin trail head and Steve and I got showered, grabbed some goodies for our families and camped out at Pasta Jay's until Mike and Doug returned and joined us. I'm thinking Steve and I got the better end of that deal
