Postscript: We had some trouble getting back down the mountain and ended up being on Long's Peak for about 15 hours all told. Part of the moral of the story is to be prepared to spend more time on the mountain than you would expect. A key item we failed to bring was a flashlight. Stumbling out in the dark at 9:00 pm would've been much better had we been able to see any hint of where we were going. But in the end we were fortunate, the weather held and everyone got down safely.
